History Overview

 Nyhof Homes Inc. is a Division of East Lake Ltd, owned by Mike Nyhof.

 

 

1970s

 

 Mike Nyhof grew up building homes and installing kitchens for his Dad (Bernard Nyhof who was then owner of Nyhof Construction and DeZwaan Kitchen Center).  As a boy Mike rememebers chaining down pre-fab walls for homes on his dad's semi trailer.  At 13, he started helping his dad frame, pour cement, and lay block.  At 15, he was helping trim houses and install cabinets.  At 17, Mike was the cabinet installer for DeZwaan Kitchen Center. At the same time, he started working for his older brother Jim Nyhof as his trim carpenter.  At 19, he built his first speculation home.

 

1983-1992

 

 Mike started his first company, Custom Crafted Homes. 

 

1992

 

 Custom Crafted Homes becomes East Lake Homes Inc.

 

 

2009

 

Mike Nyhof starts another company, East Lake Energy.  Our two companies work together and we are continually looking for ways to build homes that are more energy efficient.    

 

 

 

2014

 

Mike and Jamin Nyhof change East Lake Homes to Nyhof Homes Inc.
